About Sandra
Sandra is a German Ceramist based in London. She creates scenes from her inner world and brings them to life through her intricate style and microscopic levels of detail. She depicts the cozy, wholesome moments of German village life, creating meaningful pieces inspired by special memories with her grandparents in their village. Her works are also influenced by traditional German Christmas decorations from Christmas Markets (Weihnachtsmarkt).
Sandra is also inspired by the Greek islands and the adventures of the locals; Fishermen with leather skin and big white beards, her beloved friends who love to sing and dance in the bar until the morning, and the musicians playing instruments in tavernas where people have the best conversations, drink wine and eat lambchops. It is these people that give the island its magical energy, and offer a piece of their magic to the ceramics they inspired.
